He has taught radiology, anatomy, small animal surgery, and small animal medicine. Dr. Gonzales has been published multiple times in scientific journals such as Veterinary Medicine and in the Proceedings of the Symposium of Veterinary Research.

Dr. Gonzalez lives in Radford, VA. His wife, Piedad Natalia Henao Guerrero, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVA, is an assistant professor and anesthesiologist at Virginia Tech's veterinary college.
